Tsantsa is a peer-reviewed journal.
Thematic Dossiers (Special Issues) are proposed by guest editors who are external to the editorial team, or in collaboration with one of the editorial team members. The call for dossiers is sent out in May, but we accept thematic dossier proposals all year round. The editorial team selects the dossier topic for the upcoming issue in September. In October, the selected theme is largely publicized and circulated as a call for papers. Authors wishing to contribute to the dossier have to submit a proposal in the form of an abstract. In December, the guest editors, together with the editorial team, select the articles for the dossier and inform the authors of their decision. A first version of the accepted articles is then due in May. The evaluation of the articles takes place during the summer. Each article undergoes multiple reviews: by the guest editors, the editors of the journal, one external reviewer and one internal reviewer from the editorial team. The guest editors put the different evaluations together and coordinate the revision process with the authors. The final versions of the articles are due in November. The guest editors are required to write an introduction to the thematic dossier. All contributions are then transferred to the final edition team, which finalizes, corrects, and harmonizes the texts in the three languages of the journal. All the articles are published on the website of the journal.
Regular Articles (not in the thematic dossier) (which do not belong to the thematic dossier) follow the same editorial procedures outlined above, but are not subject to the same timeline.
